Fifteen buses operate during the morning hours, and seventeen busses provide rides during the afternoon so that convenient transportation can be available to the Athens community. Route travel through major shopping locations and neighborhoods; into the University of Georgia and the downtown district; and extend into the far eastern corners of the county on the Lexington Road, to the western portions near Georgia Square Mall, and to the northern areas including Athens Area Technical Institute.

Times for The Bus may vary according to the route and day; however, approximate hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

UGA Routes:  During all University breaks, "reading days" and holidays, Route 12 and Route 14 run on Reduced Service.  Also Route 28 Does not run during University breaks and holidays.  Call Athens Transit Information for specific times and schedules at 706-613-3434. 

Holiday Schedule

The Bus provides convenient transportation practically year round! Because of the low ridership during holidays, The Bus does not operate on the following days:

• New Year’s Day
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
• Memorial Day
• The Fourth of July
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
